The naked truth is not for me!

Angelika and Mona

Angelika and Mona

I reached Wiesbaden, which is a beautiful, picturesque town. Most of the buildings are still in original form and survived the war. My work place and place of residence for the next two weeks was this wonderful old building with high ceilings and large open spaces similar to the old colonial buildings that you see in South Mumbai.

Angelika Ardelt, partner at Text&Aktion and also my most generous host for the next two weeks, showed my room to me, which was elegant, homely and most welcoming. The open space and the clean, less polluted air made me ecstatic. Even the weather seemed to cooperate and was bright and sunny. Everything aligned perfectly for my first day in Wiesbaden, although I cannot say the same for the remaining week, which was cloudy most of the time, but offering me a much needed respite from the great Indian summer.

When I had first heard of Wiesbaden, images of a beautiful European town had conjured in my head, and I was not disappointed. It is much smaller than Frankfurt, but offers a lot. Wiesbaden is famous for its thermal springs and spa, and a visit to one of the thermal spa was on my to-do list while in Wiesbaden. I later learned it is a clothing-free zone, so I chickened out. It is difficult to summarize my stay in Wiesbaden in one or few paragraphs, but I will try and cover most of it.
