Obligatory: German sausages with sauerkraut

We had decided to do the Apfelwein tour, but after reading some not so good reviews about the tour  I decided against it. Instead, I asked Miriam to show me around some of her favourite things to do in Frankfurt. We walked to Saint Bartholomeus’s Cathedral, which is a Gothic building constructed in the 14th and 15th century. The cathedral suffered severe damage in the bombardments in March 1944 and the interior burned out completely. The cathedral was reconstructed in the 1950s. In front of the cathedral, there are well-preserved Roman ruins which are thousands of years old.

Since it was a warm summer day we walked along the Rhine, it seemed like the entire city had decided to soak in a bit of the sun and was lazing along the river. We sat by the river, watching people, discussing our lives and how similar or different they are in many ways. You can see how the summer has its effect on people, everyone seems happy and cheerful. I don’t remember the last time I lay around in a park enjoying the summer sun. For dinner, Miriam took me to this typical German restaurant where we had German sausages with sauerkraut, which was a better version of the one I had at the Oktoberfest in Mumbai last December.

During the weekend I had to visit our client hotels in Switzerland, which was another wonderful part of my European tour and an amazing experience, but that would have to be a completely different blog.
